Construction of a new airport in China's southern Guangdong province began today in Foshan, Xinhua reported. The Pearl River Delta Hub (Guangzhou New) airport, with a total investment of CNY41.8 billion (USD6 billion), will be able to handle 30 million passengers a year and have a cargo and mail throughput of 500,000 tons.
