Honor is negotiating with ByteDance regarding jointly developing a new Doubao AI Phone model, with the details yet to be finalized, The Paper reported today, citing sources. Chinese handset maker ZTE and ByteDance co-launched the first Doubao-powered phone model last December, and Doubao said a few days later it would make some adjustments to the phone's AI capabilities after major mainstream applications, such as WeChat and mobile banking, refused to log in on the phone due to its overly strong cross-application permissions.
