China's General Administration of Sport called for canceling organizing or participating in activities that involve gathering fans offline for the celebration of Chinese athletes' birthdays, after some fans recently celebrated such events on large-screen photo displays in malls nationwide, CCTV reported yesterday. These activities could interfere with the athletes' preparations for competitions and also violate their legitimate rights to portraits, it added.
