China’s cyberspace watchdog said it has stepped up efforts this year to standardize labels on short videos amid concerns over fake, misleading, and hard-to-verify content. Since January, the CAC has taken down more than 520,000 such videos, penalized over 68,000 accounts, and issued 54 governance notices. In March, regulators also directed 12 major platforms to test and improve their content-labeling tools.
