SMIC’s net profit climbed 0.4 percent in the first quarter from a year ago to CNY1.4 billion (USD200.6 million), according to the earnings report released by the Chinese chip giant today. Revenue jumped 8.1% to CNY17.6 billion (USD2.6 billion).
