BYD declined further comment on several reports that it is in talks to buy 24% in the Renault-owned Alpine F1 team held by private equity firm Otro Capital and take over Renault's French engine plant. With the stake's lock-up period ending in September, the deal could make the NEV giant China's first direct F1 entrant.
