Beijing's market regulator today summoned e-commerce and social media giants Alibaba's unit Taobao and Tmall, JD.Com, Pinduoduo, Douyin, and Xiaohongshu over false promotions and opaque seller information, ordering rectifications to curb excessive competition ahead of the 618 shopping gala.
