Tencent's Hunyuan yesterday announced the merger of its multimodal model and LLM departments to establish a foundation model department, which will be unified under the management of Tencent's Chief AI Scientist Yao Shunyu. The move aims to further enhance model research and development efficiency and explore the limits of full-modality model intelligence.
