Assets of China's financial institutions reached CNY562.2 trillion (USD83.7 trillion) as of the end of last quarter, up 7.7% from a year earlier, according to data released by the country’s central bank yesterday. Banking institutions’ assets rose 6.6% to CNY498 trillion and those of securities institutions jumped 30% to CNY20.4 trillion (USD3.04 trillion).
