China's electricity consumption rose 1.7% to 1.03 trillion kWh last month from a year earlier, while residential power use fell 4% to 188.3 billion kWh, according to data released by the National Energy Administration yesterday. The country’s power use reached 7.17 trillion kWh in the first eight months, up 4.3% year on year.
