A research team led by professor Xu Disheng solved the 30-year-old 3D Ghys conjecture through human-AI collaboration using the homegrown Intern-S2 multimodal model, according to Shanghai AI Laboratory. Formally verified by Peking University's SHEAF framework, it was the first time a world-class mathematical problem was solved by using a Chinese AI model.
