Popular Chinese bag brand Songmont yesterday refuted online rumors that it is Japanese, saying its name combines “song,” which means pine tree in Chinese language, and “mont,” which stands for mountain. The company said it has notarized evidence of infringing content and plans to take legal action, including issuing formal notices, filing complaints, and launching lawsuits.
