New merchants on #Douyin's e-commerce platform will not need to pay a deposit until their order volume exceeds 200 or their total sales amount exceeds CNY10,000 (USD1,390), according to the new measures the Chinese short video platform introduced today to reduce the entry and operating costs of merchants. The measures also cut the basic deposit for merchants by around 75%.
