Ant International confirmed today that it will apply for a stablecoin issuer permit as soon as Hong Kong’s Stablecoins Ordinance comes into effect on Aug. 1, The Paper reported. The announcement follows a Bloomberg News report saying that the unit of China's Ant Group plans to apply for stablecoin issuer licenses in Hong Kong and Singapore.
