China’s telecoms industry generated CNY748.8 billion (USD104.4 billion) of revenue in the first five months of this year, up 1.4% from a year ago, according to new data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. As of the end of May, 5G handset users had surpassed 1.09 billion, making up almost 61% of the country’s total mobile phone users.
