The China-Laos Railway handled more than 2.48 million tons of cross-border cargo valued at over CNY10 billion (USD1.4 billion) in the first five months, customs data showed today. The freight volume and value jumped 7.9% and 33.2% year on year, respectively. The railway transported 512,000 tons of goods worth CNY3.7 billion (USD515.9 million) in May alone.
