BYD and Chery Auto were the two Chinese automakers with the highest NEV subsidy write-down of over CNY140 million (USD19.5 billion) each, as some of their electric cars did not meet the requirements of the country's subsidy scheme for 2016-2020 or lacked of data, according to a preliminary audit by the MIIT yesterday.
