The video of a test head-on collision between Li Auto's latest electric car, the i8, and an 8-ton truck, in which the truck was lifted off the ground, is real, Sina Tech reported today, citing the Chinese NEV startup. The video, which was released on the same day that the i8 was launched on July 29, was carried out by a third-party certification agency, it added. Meanwhile the truck brand's owner, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor, is threatening legal action, saying that the video constitutes a serious infringement and is outside the scope of normal commercial competition.
