(Yicai Global) Aug. 22 -- US software developer Adobe unveiled its first graphics solution for individual users in the Chinese mainland yesterday priced at CNY888 (USD126) per year.

The San Jose, California-based company's products in the mainland market were previously only enterprise-oriented versions, it told Yicai Global.

Adobe's new photography program called Creative Cloud in China includes the two image processing software sets Photoshop and Lightroom Classic and allows their use on two different devices. The graphic software designer's corresponding photography program is priced at USD19.99 per month in the US, twice the price as in China.

Tmall, China's largest business-to-consumer platform run by tech and e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding, will become the online sales partner for Creative Cloud, Adobe also announced. The two will cooperate on an official flagship store in future to promote use of copyrighted versions of the imaging program in the mainland.

Chinese consumers' copyright consciousness is increasing along with the development of the domestic internet sector. Users are gradually developing the habit of paying for software, Huang Yaohui, senior managing director of Adobe China, told Yicai Global. The music service is a successful case in point. The company's previous focus has always been on the business market but opening up the consumer end and introducing more personal products will be its future trend, he noted.

The world's leading developer of creative software, Adobe was founded in 1982 and entered the Chinese mainland market in 1998. However, the rampant piracy that has longed dogged its heels led to the closure of its China's research and development branch in 2014, and it kept only a sales department.

Adobe announced its return to the Chinese market in November 2016, and first introduced Creative Cloud for enterprise users only at that time.
