(Yicai) July 18 -- Apple is showcasing cutting-edge technologies developed by its Chinese suppliers, including digital twin systems and advanced recycling solutions, at the ongoing third China International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing.

The American tech giant, participating in the CISCE for the third consecutive year, is exhibiting alongside key partners such as lithium battery supplier Sunwoda Electronic, vision inspection system manufacturer Justech Precision Industry, and aluminum alloy producer Shandong Innovation Group, Xinhua News Agency reported yesterday.

Shenzhen-based Sunwoda has developed a digital twin of its battery assembly workshop, allowing expo visitors to experience the facility using an Apple Vision Pro mixed-reality headset at the Shunyi venue of the China International Exhibition Center

The simulation integrates real-time production data, enabling remote diagnostics, monitoring, and adaptive optimization. For example, in the event of a machine malfunction, remote adjustments to production parameters can improve response speed by about 20 percent, a Sunwoda staff member said.

Justech, headquartered in Jiangsu, showcased a self-developed robotic arm that automates the installation of waterproof rubber rings in iPhone buttons. The arm achieves precision levels on par with similar imported technologies.

Shandong Innovation, in collaboration with Apple, presented cleaning and separation equipment that uses electromagnetic induction to recover over 95 percent of aluminum from discarded electronic products. The technology reflects Apple’s commitment to environmental responsibility.

China’s advanced manufacturing industry continues to benefit Apple. Over four-fifths of Apple’s 200 key suppliers operate factories in China, supporting the production of devices including the iPhone, iPad, Mac, AirPods, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro, said Cui Yushan, Apple’s vice president of procurement and operations in Asia.

Since entering China more than 30 years ago, Apple has steadily expanded its local supply chain and increased investment. In the past five years alone, the California-based company has invested USD20 billion in China’s smart and green manufacturing sectors, per Cui.

The five-day CISCE runs through July 20 and features 651 enterprises and institutions from 75 countries, regions, and international organizations. Foreign exhibitors account for 35 percent this year, up from 32 percent in the previous edition, according to the event organizer.
