(Yicai Global) June 22 -- Beijing has added 26 new testing areas for Covid-19 nucleic acid tests in a bid to speed up checks for the coronavirus in the city, which now has a total 124 testing centers and the capacity to test over 230,000 people a day, up from 100,000 before June 20.

The Chinese capital could test around a million residents a day if the testing labs combine five samples into a single test to accelerate the process, and then re-test on an individual basis if the collective sample tests positive.
