(Yicai Global) Dec. 18 -- When Beijing's new airport opens in 2020, it will improve the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei air travel hub and its comprehensive services and management will make it a world-class airport cluster by 2030, National Development and Reform Commission spokeswoman Meng Wei said.

In addition to Beijing Daxing International Airport entering operation, Tianjin Binhai International Airport and Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport will expand, comprehensively upgrading the region's civil aviation capacity, China News Service quoted Meng as saying.

Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei will connect its air and rail transit and ease transit between major airports and towns in the region to form an integrated system that boosts connectivity.

Beijing Daxing International Airport and Beijing Capital International Airport will create a "double hub." A world-class airport group integrating air and land resources will form in 2030, Meng said.

Workers completed framework construction for the main structure of the Beijing Daxing International Airport this year. It is set to handle 45 million passengers annually once it is in use.
