(Yicai Global) Sept. 20 -- Qianhai International Blockchain Ecosphere Alliance has established China's first dedicated blockchain library in the city of Shenzhen, located in the country's southern Guangdong province, Securities Times reported on Sept. 19.

The alliance aims to popularize knowledge of blockchain technology and promote its application to boost innovation and entrepreneurship. The library will be available to members of the alliance.

Application scenarios for blockchain are on the rise, especially in finance and insurance, cross-border trade, entertainment rights and certification, said Lao Weixin, chair of the alliance. The uses of blockchain have been enhanced by the technology's integration with Big Data and artificial intelligence.

Blockchain's features, such as tamper resistance, multi-centers and openness, have a high practical value, and are able to solve difficulties better than traditional technology, said Gan Guohua, executive director at Beijing Tai Cloud Technology Corp.'s institute for strategic studies.

Prospects for the development of blockchain applications related to transactions and payments, certification and traceability are bright, he added.
