(Yicai Global) March 7 -- China's Boai NKY Pharmaceuticals will join hands with US-based genetic analysis firm Illumina to develop testing products to screen for hereditary kidney disorders. 

Boai signed a cooperation agreement with Illumina, under which the latter will provide Boai and its affiliates with technologies to develop, manufacture and sell in vitro diagnostics products, as well as offer training, the central Henan province-based firm said in a statement.

After receiving an approval from the National Medical Products Administration, Boai can sell the products under its own trademark in China. 

Founded in 1998, San Diego-based Illumina provides gene sequencing services.  

Established in 1997, Boai makes ingredients for drugs, cosmetics and oral care.
