(Yicai Global) June 28 -- A unit of state-owned China National Machinery Industry will construct an international transport center in Cote d'Ivoire.

China CAMC Engineering has penned a EUR54.9 million (USD62.4 million) contract with Societe Africaine d'Infrastructures et d'Investissements about the project, the Beijing-based company said in a statement yesterday, without disclosing the type of transport.

CAMC will design, build and test the project located in the West African country's economic capital Abidjan in 24 months. The deal equals to 4.2 percent of the revenue CAMC reported last year, the firm added.

Founded in 2001, CAMC has finished nearly 100 large projects in the fields including agriculture and water utilities in Asia, Africa, the US and Eastern Europe.

Societe Africaine is a unit of Generale d'Afrique, a multinational company engaging in project contracting and trade in West Africa.
