(Yicai Global) Sept. 12 -- China Communications Construction, China's biggest international infrastructure builder, penned more than USD10 billion worth of deals at the recent Beijing summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

The projects include railroads, highways and ports and will be worth about 14 percent of the firm's revenue last year, the Beijing-based company said in a statement yesterday.

Managers from China Communications Construction met with leaders of 39 African countries during the forum summit, which took place on Sept. 3 and Sept. 4, the statement added, saying the executives and officials had discussions about cooperating further in the future.

Many African countries fall on the route of the Belt and Road, a 30- to 40-year master plan devised by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013 to build a vast infrastructure and trade network spanning multiple continents via roads, rails, pipes and seas.

This has sparked a string of deals between China and Africa, especially after the FOCAC summit brought a number of African leaders to Beijing. China Oil HBP Group has secured a USD313 million bid to commission natural gas fields in Ethiopia, and China State Construction Engineering has penned two deals worth USD9.6 billion in Egypt.
