(Yicai Global) Sept. 30 -- China has sent its first smart Covid-19 testing vehicle to southwestern Sichuan province's disease control bureau to bolster epidemic prevention.

The mobile version of BGI Group's Fire Eye lab, developed by its gene sequencing equipment unit MGI Tech and commercial vehicle maker Shudu Bus, can process up to 20,000 nucleic acid testing samples a day and should improve the province's testing capacity, particularly in remote areas, the Paper reported.

The vehicle can also be used for other purposes such as tumor screening and reproductive health services to make contributions to building a healthy China, said Wang Jian, chairman of Shenzhen-based BGI. The lab requires four employees to produce testing results.
