(Yicai Global) Aug. 25 -- China's biggest ride-hailing platform Didi Chuxing started offering its services in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan in Russia today, its first foray into the Eurasian market.

Didi Express services are now available in Kazan, home to Russia's largest hi-tech park, the Beijing-based firm said.

Didi Chuxing has set up a subsidiary in Russia to make use of local drivers and fleets and to provide a better service to local customers. Driver recruitment began in late July, it added. The company has made a commitment to bring long-term investment and job opportunities to the local community.

The firm's global operations already extend to Australia, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Costa Rica, Chile, Colombia and Panama. In April, the company set a three-year growth target to complete more than 100 million trips a day and reach 800 million monthly active users worldwide, according to founder and Chief Executive Officer Cheng Wei.

Didi Chuxing became China's biggest ride-sharing platform after merging with Uber China in 2016. Now it also offers bike sharing, food delivery and payment services to over 550 million users across the world.
