(Yicai Global) Oct. 24 -- China has revealed its residents' after-tax income. Megacities of Shanghai and Beijing have ranked best. The increase in peoples' spending power is in-keeping with the growth of the country's gross domestic product.

The average per capita disposable income in China's 31 provinces was about CNY21,000 (USD3,000) in the first three quarters of this year, the National Bureau of Statistics said in a report today. The growth of disposable income broadly keeps pace with that of the economy, the NBS spokesperson Mao Shengyong said at a related press conference.

Shanghai topped the ranking with an average of over CNY48,300 for each resident to use freely after paying income duties. Beijing came second with more than CNY46,400 for each to spend and Zhejiang followed with about CNY35,300. The administrative areas of Tianjin, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Fujian, Liaoning and Shandong also surpassed the national average.

The Tibet Autonomous Region was at the bottom of the list with its about CNY11,800, reflecting its residents' spending power. Northwestern provinces of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and Gansu were second and third-last with sums less than CNY13,000.

The average for each person's consumption expenditure rose 8.5 percent to almost CNY14,300 from the same period last year. When deducting price factors, the real growth rate is 6.3 percent. Meanwhile, the GDP growth slowed to 6.5 during the nine months.
