China's First Private Aircraft Maker Forges Ahead Toward Airworthiness Certificate China's First Private Aircraft Maker Forges Ahead Toward Airworthiness Certificate

(Yicai Global) May 25 -- China's Guanyi Aviation has moved onto testing the strength of the country's first homegrown general-purpose aircraft developed by a privately owned company.

Shanghai-based Guanyi has successfully completed its dynamic impact tests of GA20's seat belts and seats, and started testing the strength of the entire aircraft on its way toward applying for an airworthiness certificate, The Paper reported today.

A project started in 2015, the GA20 is a single-engine four-seat fixed-wing aircraft. A Nanchang-based unit of Guangyi has been in charge of the development. The first flight tests were completed in the southeastern city in September 2018.

Established in 2009, Guanyi has finished 121 GA20 test flights along with providing domestic civil aviation companies with its services.
