(Yicai Global) Sept. 18 -- China's first production line for sixth-generation flexible Active Matrix/Organic Light Emitting Diodes (AMOLEDs), which Beijing-based display maker Boe Technology Group Co. [SHE:000725] researched and developed, will start churning out en masse next month, and its products will go into high-end mobile phones, Shanghai Securities News quoted Yuan Feng, the firm's vice president, as saying at the 4th China (West) International Panel Display Forum.

The group built the production center in May 2015 and completed the factory's main building in July last year at a cost of USD7.09 billion (CNY46.5 billion). It has a designed monthly capacity of 48,000 glass substrates and will create advanced technologies for ultrahigh definition (UHD) and ultra-thin panels. Its products' main applications are high-end mobile phones and smart wearable devices.

AMOLED is the most advanced display technology. It offers a wider view, higher refresh rate and thinner size than traditional ones.

The manufacturing hub will help Boe provide high-quality and flexible AMOELD screens to well-known manufacturers worldwide.
