(Yicai Global) March 6 -- China's Huadong Heavy Machinery will provide tens of gantry cranes to the upcoming world's largest fully automated port in Singapore for USD76.4 million.
Huadong has received a notice from Singaporean port group PSA about winning the tender to supply the latter with 28 gantry cranes in Tuas port, the Wuxi-based company said in a statement yesterday.
Tuas terminal port will be able to handle 65 million twenty-foot equivalent units each year, the statement said. The cargo harbor is expected to be ready in 2040.
Winning the bid provides a premise for participation in more projects regarding automated smart dockyards worldwide, the firm added.
