(Yicai Global) Jan. 28 -- Hubei, the Chinese province at the heart of the new coronavirus epidemic, has confirmed a total of 2,714 cases of the 2019-nCoV virus so far.

1,291 cases were newly confirmed yesterday, 892 of which are in Wuhan, the provincial capital, bringing the number of the city's confirmed cases to 1,590, according to the local health authorities.

A  total of 100 people afflicted with the virus have died, and 47 have recovered and been discharged from hospital, the authorities said.
