China's Interbank Rates Move Mostly Lower Despite PBOC Skipping OMOs Again

(Yicai  Global) Oct. 10 -- Three of the five Shanghai Interbank Offered Rates slid again today despite, the People's Bank of China opting to skip open market operations for the fifth straight day and effectively keeping the nation's monetary system balanced.

The overnight SHIBOR moved 18.60 basis points lower to 2.0160 percent and the one-week rate was down 3.20 bips at 2.5950 percent. The SHIBOR for three-month loans also slid 0.20 bips to 2.7180 percent.

The SHIBOR for six-month loans, however, rebounded 0.10 bips to 2.8140 percent, while the rate for one-year loans also rose 0.2 bips to 3.0490.
