(Yicai Global) Aug. 7 -- The yield of internet financial products increased significantly in the first half of 2017, but the yield of peer-to-peer lending platform products continued to decline.

Due to the tightening of liquidity, the yield of the internet monetary fund and internet banking financial products has increased significantly, with the yield generally reaching more than 4 percent. However, P2P lending financial products yield showed a downward trend, 'Statistical Survey Report on the Internet Development in China,' released by China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) in Beijing on Aug. 4, said.

The monthly report for July published by www.wdzj.com, a third party P2P lending information platform, indicates that the yield of P2P lending showed a downward trend with volatility. P2P industry consolidated yield was 9.41 percent, continuing the upward trend from last month, up 11 basis points, but fell 84 basis points from a year earlier, data show.

"This change was due to the increase in P2P lending platform operating and customer acquisition costs, but it was also because of the increasingly stringent regulatory requirements," CNNIC analyst Wang Tao said.

In June, several P2P lending platforms increased the return on financial products, hoping to attract more investors. In the first half of 2017, the size of internet financial products users reached 126 million, up 27.5 percent, with an increase of 27.24 million compared with the end of 2016.
