(Yicai Global) Sept. 2 -- China's mainland stock markets closed higher on the month's first trading day, uplifted by tech stocks.
The Shanghai composite index closed 1.31 percent up at 2,924.11 on a CNY226 billion (USD31.53 billion) trading volume. The Shenzhen Component Index climbed 2.18 percent to close at 9,569.47 on turnover of CNY327.2 billion. The ChiNext index increased 2.57 percent to 1,652.29, with CNY112.8 billion changing hands.
Augmented reality shares led the gainers with an average 5.5 percent increase. Big aircraft manufacturing and smart city stocks rose 4.5 percent and 4.4 percent at the close.
