(Yicai Global) Oct. 31 -- The Purchasing Managers' Index of China's manufacturing sector dropped 0.5 of a percentage point to 49.3 this month, indicating a slowdown in the economy, the National Bureau of Statistics announced today.
A reading above the 50 redline mark denotes expansion; one below shows contraction.
The Non-Manufacturing Business Activity Index also fell 0.9 percentage point to 52.8 this month, still in expansion territory, but signaling slowing growth.
