(Yicai Global) June 8 -- China's commerce ministry has brought in a 38.4 percent duty on Brazilian chicken imports after an anti-dumping investigation found that the country's broiler products were having a substantially damaging effect on the domestic industry.

The investigation concluded that the import volume of Brazilian chicken to China had rose to nearly 500,000 tons in 2016, the ministry said in a statement. This figure is nearly one-and-a-half times the volume in 2013 when less than 200,000 tons were imported. Product prices fell some 8.2 percent over the same period.
