(Yicai Global) Oct. 27 -- The Port of Dalian in China's northeastern Liaoning province will open the first China Railway Express Co. line to Slovakia by the end of this month as the company looks to expand its travel network across Europe by leveraging Slovakia's transport system, the port said on Oct. 26.

The freight line between Dalian and Europe shipped 23,000 standard containers in the first three quarters of this year, up 121 percent on the year, state-run China News Service reported.

The Port of Dalian already has five China Railway Express routes, forming a two-way international rail-water transport system linking Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Russia and some European countries.
