(Yicai Global) Oct. 31 -- Construction machinery maker Sany Group Co. and online retail giant JD.com Inc. [NASDAQ:JD] are joining forces in industrial e-commerce, the former said in a statement.

The pair inked a deal in Changsha, Hunan province to collaborate in procurement, e-commerce, logistics and other areas to set out a new model for the combination of construction machinery and online purchasing, the firm said.

Under the agreement, Sany Group will purchase stationery, printing supplies, protection equipment, computing supplies and other items through JD.com, and the duo will cooperate in industrial e-commerce and logistics to capitalize on the online market and integrate marketing data resources to delivery better products and shopping channels to consumers.

The after-market sector of the machinery industry is huge, with Sany Group's accessories alone pulling in around CNY10 billion (USD1.5 billion) a year. In line with the deal, the group will use the accessories as a benchmark for industrial e-commerce, exploit JD.com's information and logistics systems and JD Finance, solve problems between customers and manufacturers and expand service coverage to customers who are harder to reach through traditional channels.
