China's Service Trade Deficit Narrows 9.8% Jan.-July China's Service Trade Deficit Narrows 9.8% Jan.-July

(Yicai Global) Sept. 4 -- China's deficit in service trade narrowed 9.8 percent from a year earlier during the first seven months of this year as the growth of imports stood flat amid a boost in exports.

China's total trade in services reached CNY3.09 trillion (USD430.3 billion), an increase of 3.2 percent from the period last year. Exports rose 9.5 percent to CNY1.1 trillion and imports were unchanged at CNY1.99 trillion.

Trade of services related to culture and entertainment was booming, rising 27.5 percent, while that of financial services climbed 22.5 percent. Imports and exports of telecoms and information services increased by 19.4 percent.
