(Yicai Global) Aug. 30 -- China's mainland stock markets ended up back in the trough after a feeble recovery in the morning.
The Shanghai composite index was down 0.16 percent at 2,886.24 on a CNY224.8 billion (USD31.4 billion) trading volume. The Shenzhen Component Index fell 0.35 percent to close at 9,365.68 on turnover of CNY330 billion. The ChiNext index fell 0.61 percent to 1,610.90, with CNY112.3 billion changing hands.
Maritime defense- and alcohol-linked stocks were among biggest gainers, while the electronics, hemp and graphene sectors were in the vanguard of the rout.
