(Yicai Global) Nov. 21 -- The Shanghai Interbank Offered Rates moved in both directions today, with those for short-term lending continuing to slip.

The overnight SHIBOR was down 5 basis points at 1.8490 percent, while the one-week rate slid 7.1 bips to 2.4260 percent. The two-week rate also fell 8.1 bips to 2.4890 percent.

Rates for three-month and one-year loans both climbed 0.2 bip, to 3.0340 percent and 3.1270 percent.

"Liquidity in the monetary system is already reasonably ample," the central bank said today after skipping open market operations for the second day in a row. It offered the same explanation yesterday.
