(Yicai Global) March 31 -- Shuangliang Eco-Energy Systems, a Chinese maker of solar wafers, inked a supply deal with a photovoltaic cell producer that is expected to be worth CNY2 billion (USD291 million), its fourth such order this month.

Shuangliang Eco-Energy’s unit in Baotou, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, will provide 245 million large solar monocrystalline silicon wafers to Anhui Yingfa Ruineng Technology and two of its units this year, the Jiangyin, Jiangsu province-based firm said in a statement late yesterday.

The deal is expected to be worth CNY2 billion based on the average market price for monocrystalline silicon wafers compiled by InfoLink Consulting, Shuangliang Eco-Energy said. Each month’s sales volume and pricing will be negotiated at the end of the previous month, it added.

The company’s Baotou plant has secured long-term wafer supply deals worth more than CNY100 billion (USD14.6 billion) since it began selling products in the second half of 2021, with orders reaching over CNY8 billion alone this month.

Shares of Shuangliang Eco-Energy [SHA: 600481] closed 0.8 percent higher at CNY15.69 (USD2.28) today, after jumping by as much as 3.5 percent before the lunch break.

The firm’s monocrystalline wafers have gained more recognition from high-quality downstream customers and the market, positively impacting long-term sales, the firm said on March 12.
