(Yicai Global) July 7 -- After logging stellar increases over several trading days in a row, China’s mainland stock market gains slowed.
The Shanghai Composite Index closed nearly 0.4 percent higher at 3,345.34, while the Shenzhen Component Index added 1.7 percent to 13,163.98. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth stocks in Shenzhen, climbed over 2.4 percent to 2,591.26.
Total market turnover topped CNY1 trillion (USD142.3 billion) for a fourth trading day, reaching CNY1.4 trillion today. That was CNY100 billion (USD14.2 billion) less than yesterday.
Internet businesses and liquors makers led the gains, jumping about 4 percent, while brokerages, which had advanced over 30 percent this month, led the decliners with a 1.8 percent drop.
