(Yicai Global) Oct. 31 -- China's stock markets rebounded steadily in afternoon trading, with the major indexes seeing positive trends to erase early losses or extend their gains, though trading was relatively quiet overall compared with yesterday.
The rebound was widespread with most sectors closing in the black. 

Several Shanghai-related market sectors led the way, with sectors including the Shanghai Free trade zone, Shanghai's state-owned companies facing restructuring and companies based in Pudong were among the best performing sectors, while the agriculture, bank, and brokrage sectors undeperfomed on the day.

The Shanghai Composite Index was up 0.09 percent at the close, recovering all early losses, to close at 3,393.34 points. Turnover was CNY199.9 billion(USD30.1 billion), compared with yesterday's 257.8 billion.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.49 percent at 11,367.62 points, with CNY232.2 billion swapped, compared with yesterday's 304.7 billion.

The Growth Enterprise Index, mostly comprising small-cap companies, was up 0.74 percent at 1,869.79 points,, with CNY61.60 biliion changing hands, also down on yesterday's 83.21 billion.
