(Yicai Global) June 6 -- Chinese mainland stock markets continued their slide, with the Shenzhen market indexes hunkering down into new multi-month depths as wary investors sniffed shifting winds of trade uncertainty.

The Shanghai Composite Index was down 0.46 percent at 2,848.34 at the lunch break, while the Shenzhen Component Index finished 0.92 percent lower at 8,665.86 at the buzzer.

The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks Shenzhen-listed growth companies, closed down 1.34 percent at 1,431.70.

Both Shenzhen indexes broke through their recent market lows to settle into an abyss not visited since Feb. 22.
