(Yicai Global) Jan. 10 -- Stoke Voltaics, a Chinese developer of outdoor computer, communications, and consumer electronics hardware, has secured CNY50 million (USD7.8 million) in a pre-A financing round led by Lightspeed China Partners.

Shunwei Capital and One Capital also took part in the fundraiser, the Shenzhen-based company said today. The proceeds will be used to develop innovative outdoor 3C products and the firm’s global brand, as well as incubate distributed energy devices and other product brands.

“The global outdoor scenario is undergoing electrification and intelligent upgrades,” said Zhang Yichen, executive director of Lightspeed China. “Such innovative products are expected to change human life and entertainment habits in the outdoors.”

Founded last September, Stoke Voltaics’ founders are graduates of top universities including Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Imperial College London, Nanjing University, and Harbin Institute of Technology. They also have much experience in building and commercializing outdoor technology brands.

“With the popularization of distributed energy equipment such as energy storage power sources and movable solar panels, people will gradually begin to have the same or even better convenient lifestyle outdoors than indoors,” Chief Executive Marshall Yuan said after the fundraiser. “This will create more and more outdoor electricity needs and scenarios.”
