(Yicai Global) Aug. 14 -- Chinese firms and institutions created 8.7 million new jobs from January to July but the nation's unemployment rate among the main age group of workers remained the same.

By July, China reached 79 percent of its target regarding new jobs for this year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. The unemployment rate among those aged from 25 years to 59 years was 4.6 percent, unchanged from June. That for the total population was 5.3 percent, up 0.2 percentage point, due to an increasing number of graduates starting their job searches.
