(Yicai) Aug. 25 -- China CAMC Engineering has secured a contract worth around USD72 million to build supporting road infrastructure for an airport in the capital city of Central America's Nicaragua.

The airport is located in the northern part of Managua, with construction work scheduled to last 24 months from when it begins, Beijing-based CAMCE announced yesterday, citing a deal signed on Aug. 22.

The project requires an advance payment, CAMCE noted, adding that it will not affect the company's financial performance before its undertaking, but will likely have a positive impact over the next two years, subject to audit.

CAMCE is one of China's major contractors, focusing on engineering projects overseas and international bidding projects domestically.

CAMCE's shares [SHE: 002051] fell 1 percent to CNY8.94 (USD1.25) as of lunch break in Shenzhen today.
